Lets Ditch Google For New Alternative : DuckDuckGo

Some of the largest companies on the Web have attempted to compete with Google and failed. DuckDuckGo , on the other hand, is about as small as a company can be — it has one full-time employee — and has come up with one of the most appealing Google alternatives to date. It doesn't involve e-mail, maps, real-time results or social networking. It's just a simple, straightforward search engine that's reminiscent of early Google, with a no-nonsense privacy policy (it will not store any information that could tie you to your searches). Best of all, the results are dependably relevant and devoid of spam.It has come in the list of top 50websites of 2011 of times magazine. Lets give a try to ditch google . After giving a try please give your suggestion in comments.

Gyro Technology

This wild new motorcycle, invented by 19-year-old Ben J. Poss Gulak, is among the latest inventions to capture attention. Debuting at the National Motorcycle Show in Toronto, the "Uno" uses gyro technology for balance and acceleration. It's a battery charged machine that accelerates by leaning forward and slowing down by leaning backwards. The Uno weighs approximately 129 pounds (58 kg.) and has a top speed of 25 mph (40 klms). Update: Since featuring Ben's invention, he has continued to develop and progress with his innovative product. He won second place in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, and first prize in Popular Science's Invention Awards. Ben also appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and on the popular invention television show "Dragon's Den" where he received 1.25 million dollars from investors. Gulak continues to develop and commercialize his invention while studying engineering at the Mas

Will we ever… create intelligent robots?

- We made you ‘cause we could. - Can you imagine how disappointing it would be for you to hear the same thing from your creator? In Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s film about a space expedition searching for the origins of human life, the elegant, Lawrence-of-Arabia loving android David discovers from a crew member the possible motives behind his own creation – and understandably finds this less than inspiring. But the idea of creating intelligent robots has fired human imagination for decades. These robots have taken many forms in speculative fiction, from the seductive charms of Futura in Fritz Lang’s masterpiece Metropolis to the urbane, existential angst of David in Prometheus. In reality, though, how far have we progressed towards being able to create an intelligent robot just “’cause we could”? To understand where we are now, we have to go back about twenty years, to a time when artificial intelligence research was in crisis. Rodney Brooks, then a professor of Elec

India Become the fourth largest country in android app downloads : GOOGLE

Google's announcements on Thursday brought plenty to cheer to both Android developers and end-users in India. Google announced that Indian developers will be able to monetize their apps via paid applications, in-app products, and subscriptions. Further, Google announced that end users will be able to pay for their purchases in Indian rupees, ensuring greater transparency over the amount charged and, possibly, better deals on apps via country-specific pricing. Google shared these two announcements via a blog post. In the same blog post, Google also shared some interesting stats with respect to Android usage in India. First, the number of activations. According to Google, over the past year, Android device activations in India have jumped more than 400%. It is not clear if Google is referring to the number of activations per day, or the total devices activated till date, but either way, those are impressive numbers. Google added that in the last six months, Android u
